Chastain Wealth would like to congratulate one of our Wealth Managers, Marc Girardot, on becoming a Certified Financial Planner professional!
The CFP® is the gold standard designation for financial advisors. To earn the CFP®, Marc had to complete a rigorous educational course load on investments, taxes, insurance, estate planning, then pass a six-hour exam, and then spend 6,000 hours providing financial guidance to clients.
“What surprised me the most was the amount of complexity surrounding the multiple aspects of Financial Planning and how much time and effort it takes to be develop a thorough understanding of someone’s financial situation,” Marc said.
Unfortunately, in today’s financial advice market place what you need to be a financial advisor is a card that says you are a financial advisor. Earning the CFP™ designation sets Marc apart from the thousands of those advisors in the market today.
In addition to being a full-time wealth manager Marc is Chair Emeritus of the Kennesaw State University College of Science and Mathematics Advisory Board.
Marc graduated with a degree in chemistry from Boston University and has an MBA from Emory University. Prior to becoming a wealth manager Marc worked for Fortune 500 companies in the pharmaceutical industry and founded medical device and commercial real estate companies.
Marc said that studying for the CFP exam helped changed his perspective both personally and professionally.
“I have a one-year old daughter and I’ve already set up a 529 Plan for her because of what I’ve learned. I take a more long-term view on investing instead of being a trader and trying to time the market”.
We are very proud of Marc’s accomplishment and know he will do great things for CWM’s clients in the future!
